WHAT IS THE UHL?
The United Hearthstone League (UHL) is a 10 Week long standard format league with weekly competitive matches, A caster pool of top notch talent, a more than welcoming community on Twitch & one of the most valuable & accessible Discords in the HS community for free. The UHL brings together Hearthstone players from all different types of communities from all over the world into one HUB for competitive play.
With the United Hearthstone League we wanted to try something new in regards to deck selection. Therefore, we have decided to have a format where EVERY CLASS IS SELECTED. The format will play out in the following way:
Matches are played once per week in a Best of 5 (Bo5) conquest format, where players are required to win with all three classes to achieve victory.
UHL UNIQUE RULES THAT ALL 9 CLASSES MUST BE PLAYED BY ALL PLAYERS. BELOW IS AN EXAMPLE OF HOW EACH CLASS MAY BE PLAYED THROUGHOUT A REGULAR SEASON. THERE ARE NO BANS.
Week 1: Players may choose any 3 of the 9 classes.
Week 2: Players choose three classes out of the remaining six.
Week 3: Players bring their three remaining classes.
Week 4: Class Selection resets. Players are free again and may choose any 3 of the 9 classes.
Week 5:Players choose three classes out of the remaining six.
Week 6:Players bring their three remaining classes.
Week 7:Class Selection resets. Players are free again and may choose any 3 of the 9 classes.
Once a class has been selected for use in a particular week, that class may not be used again until all remaining classes have been selected, even if the player did not get to use that class in his/her matches.
As this is an exhibition league, there are no eliminations, however wins and losses will be recorded and tallied. At the end of 7 weeks, the players with the highest win rates will be invited to compete against each other in Playoffs and Finals to determine the Champion of the season.
The players consist of two groups (or conferences) of Eight. Players will compete against the other players within their own conference. At the conclusion of 7 weeks, the top 4 players within a conference will compete against each other in playoffs to determine who goes to finals. The top player from each conference will compete against each other to determine the Champion
When a season is in session the ruling is as follows: the deadline to submit your match AND classes will be by 3am est MONDAY of the that week. Work with your opponent to get your match scheduled AS SOON AS POSSIBLE.
Failure to report a match or classes for the week will result in a loss for the player. With Ample time and heads up, submitting classes should be easier than reading this article! You can make decks the day of if you’d like...just get your classes on time!
So don’t get an L, fill out the forms online!
At the end of the 7 week regular season, the top 4 players in each conference, according to their record, will advance to the playoffs. If there are ties in records, the following tiebreakers will occur:
- Most games won
- Least games lost
- Head to Head record
- Head to Head match to end the tie
